What T3rnel Browser stores and sends, in plain words
T3rnel Browser collects nothing by default: no account, no error reporting, no tracking. Everything it saves stays on your device, and only two opt-in features — an anonymous per-tool usage counter and a newsletter — can send anything, and both are off until you turn them on.
Updated · T3rnel Browser 1.3.0
The short version
There is no server that receives your browsing data. The extension makes network requests only when you start them, when a switch you control is on, as part of a purchase or licence you began, or to read something public. Every situation is listed in the full privacy policy.
What stays on your device
- Settings and approval policies
- Screenshot history and visual-regression baselines
- Recorded sessions and generated test code
- Vault entries, encrypted with a key derived from your master passphrase
- Your licence entitlement, if you buy Pro
What you can opt into
An anonymous per-tool usage counter and a newsletter. Both are off until you say otherwise.
Questions
Where is my data stored?
Locally in your browser: settings, approval policies, screenshot history, baselines, recorded sessions, generated test code, encrypted vault entries and your licence. Uninstalling the extension removes it.
Does Pro phone home?
Activating a licence contacts the WavePay licensing service once, with your licence key and a public key for the installation. After activation your licence is verified offline.
Can my vault be read by the developer?
No. Vault entries are encrypted with a key derived from your master passphrase and the plaintext is never written.
